Inclusion at 天美传媒

At 天美传媒, we work collaboratively with a range of local Primary, Secondary and FE Provisions to ensure the needs of all our pupils are effectively met - each pupil’s progress is under continuous review by subject leads and teachers.  When it appears that a particular pupil could benefit from the opportunity of attending a mainstream school, to extend their opportunities in a particular subject, staff work with that pupil in preparation for inclusion links.  Close liaison occurs between parents/carers, 天美传媒 staff and SEND representatives from the mainstream school. A full risk assessment is also undertaken to ensure the opportunity effectively meets the needs of the pupil.

These inclusion offers are constantly reviewed to ensure that they remain appropriate for the pupils attending them. The level of PCA support that is provided for the pupil and the school, the curriculum offered, social opportunities and the amount of time the young person spends in the mainstream setting are discussed frequently with appropriate staffing, parents/carers and the young people themselves. Where appropriate, we may also work towards full time transition into mainstream school.

Primary Inclusion:

Within the Primary Department, inclusion opportunities are available in partnership with our Trust mainstream schools Devonshire Primary Academy, Revoe Learning Academy and Anchorsholme Academy. Inclusion subjects currently include maths, however PE and English have also been explored in previous years.

Secondary Inclusion:

Within the Secondary Department, inclusion opportunities are available in partnership with St Mary’s Catholic Academy. Current inclusion subjects include English, Maths, Art and PE.

Inclusion also takes place with local FE colleges for pupils in Year 11 and in the Sixth Form. Pupils in years 11-14 spend one day a week at Myerscough or Blackpool & the Fylde College, experiencing a range of courses that they have on offer. Pupils change their choices every eight weeks so that they can maximise the opportunity of accessing as many courses as possible across the school year.

College Links

Year 11 pupils attend college each Thursday for eight week long taster blocks of courses they may wish to move onto as their post 16 option. Park community academy work with Blackpool and the Fylde College and Myerscough College to offer a variety of options for pupils to experiences. Pupils get the opportunity to immerse themselves in college life each Thursday by attending their chosen campus with a small group of peers and the support of 天美传媒 staff. They access the campus cafeteria at lunch times and well as getting full access to the college library.

See below for the current range of taster courses pupils’ access.
